Sunday:
PM: 16.5 miles (3:23:00) 3400' vertical High Lonesome Loop counter-clockwise. I had planned on doing 2 loops so I took the first loop easy. Both of my knees were bugging me quite a bit at the end of the first lap so I decided to call it a day.

Totals:
Miles: 94
Time: 15h 25min
Vertical: 12 200'

Bike Totals:
Miles: 43
Time: 2h 54min

I still have some trepidation regarding my training. This week I got 94 miles and about 9 hours of time above 9000'. So I feel like my training so far has the right volume, the right vertical, and a decent amount of time at elevation. It is lacking a 'long' run (30-40 miles). This week I did a decent job of getting 3 runs in a row around 3 hours. I've been thinking about what will be the best plan from here on out to Leadville. I really want to make it to the starting line un-injured and the issue with my knees from Sunday has me a bit nervous. I might take this week a bit easy at the start so I can feel healthy for a long run Saturday.

July Totals:
Miles: 310.25
Time: 51h 47min
Vertical: 47 450'

Rob,
Your training regime is intimidating to say the least. Your weekend in ND certainly won't give you much of an opportunity to run at elevation. The Turtle Mountains? No, I don't think so.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Why can't we find your name on the list of entrants? Are you registered?
2. Do you have any estimate of your total time? We are interested in being at the finish line, provided that I don't have to get up before 5 a.m. and you won't be finishing before 8 p.m. on Saturday as I have another commitment all day Saturday the
21st. What time would you anticipate finishing?
Best of luck.
Dan

Dan,

In regards to (1.) I am just as surprised as you about my name not being on the list as I registered in December. I've sent a few e-mails but haven't heard back yet.

Assuming things are fixed with the registration issue and I am able to race, I am hoping to be done in the 22-25 hour range. This would have me finishing between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Sunday morning which is not an ideal time for spectating. So I don't think you'll want to watch the finish.

Rob, I'm afraid I'll have to be with you in spirit but not in person. Hope the knee is better and we wish you the best.
